ð Full Guide: Compressing an Actual PDF File
This tool above compresses IMAGES (the most common cause of oversized visa uploads â a scanned photo). If your file is already a multi-page PDF that's too large:
- If it's a scanned PDF (photos of documents): Convert each page to an image, compress using the tool above, then recombine using our PDF tools or any PDF merger.
- If it's a text-based PDF (e.g. exported from Word): Re-export at a lower image quality setting, or use your PDF viewer's built-in "Reduce File Size" / "Optimize" feature (available in Adobe Acrobat, Preview on Mac, and many free desktop PDF tools).
- Check actual requirements first â many e-visa portals specify size limits PER PAGE or PER DOCUMENT differently; re-check the portal's exact instructions before re-uploading.
